The eSolarMark FL3 HD is able to handle the difficulty of coding onto the concave designs on the base of the can.  The laser machine has been specifically designed to meet the beverage sector’s demanding hygiene standards and is therefore made of stainless steel with IP65 protection.  It is protected against dust and water and is also capable of withstanding high-pressure water cleaning and industrial detergents.  Capable of operating on the fastest production lines: the system offers a marking field of 70 x 70mm.

The e-Solarmark FL3 HD can code PET and glass bottles (including returnable glass), cans, liquid bricks, pouches, caps, wrapping films and shipping containers. This flexibility is key when various packaging formats are used in the same plant.

MPERIA System Provides Wireless Control Over The Marking Process for wooden pallets.

A large UK pallet manufacturer needed a coding and marking solution for the application of company logos and product traceability codes.

Xact were able to offer a solution using the robust MPERIA™ VIAjet™ V-Series.  The VIAjet™ V-Series was chosen for its dependable long-term performance and reliability in the most demanding environments.  The V-Series is also perfect for the application of company logos, industry logos and product traceability codes.

The completed installation included an MPERIA™ 12” controller with 2 x 32v 8000+ Midi print heads.  This delivered unrivalled flexibility including wireless Ethernet connectivity as standard. The system is operated remotely via the PC in the production office as well as the portable tablets used by their engineering team.

In addition to the power and flexibility of the MPERIA™ solution, the system significantly reduces operating costs in comparison to the branding process as well as increased productivity as there is no longer a requirement to stop the pallet for the identification process.

The solution provides consistent printing in variable operating temperatures and a dusty environment, as well as the facility to mark damp blocks.

MPERIA System Solves High Speed Application Of Quality Barcodes To Specialised Papers.

A leading manufacturer of high quality paper needed a coding and marking solution to apply product names, batch code and bar codes at high speed.

Xact supplied and installed the MPERIA™ 12” touchscreen controller with 3 x VIAjet™ L-Series L12 print heads.  Competitor systems were unable to offer the desired print resolution at normal production speeds of 100m/min. However the speed requirement was well within the capabilities of the MPERIA™ VIAjet™ L-Series printer.

With this system the client has the facility to have one controller operating multiple print heads with the flexibility to simply add further heads in the future for other marking applications thereby future proofing the system.  This is one big advantage of the MPERIA™ system, the ability to so easily extend and expand in the future.  The MPERIA™ system installed by Xact has the network capabilities to integrate with the clients internal order and manufacturing systems which is included as a standard feature.

MPERIA System Meets Requirements Of The Insulation Industry.

The client was already using the Matthews 8400 inkjet system with a single 32v print head coding on just one side of the insulation board.  They wanted a system that would enable them to mark on both sides of their thermal board.  They also required an integrated system which would fit into their manufacturing process for easier message selection when the insulation boards varied in thickness.

Xact’s technical site survey concluded that an upgrade to Xact’s MPERIA™ VIAjet™ V-Series ink jet printer using two 32v print heads and the MPERIA™ management system would allow the client to link directly making message selection simple.  

Following the success of the first system, a second system will be installed on another line in the coming months.

Customised Print & Apply Label Application For Leading Paper Manufacturer.

Following a site survey from an Xact specialist we determined the requirements and provided a thorough proposal offering a solution to the clients problems.  The previous system was failing causing poor prints resulting in customers rejecting orders and the company being subjected to hefty fines. 

In comparison to the previous system, Xact’s solution was more reliable and cost effective.  Our site survey concluded that a customised solution was required.  This included a sublevel framework with an integrated Zebra print engine that would allow a label to be printed and dispensed in an upside down position along a floor conveyor belt. The rolls of paper would then be rolled over the label.   

An additional scanning system was proposed for barcode verification of the label.

Add A ‘Depot Day’ To Your Label!

“Display until” or “Best Before” dates on labels have always been a problem if production planning dictates that you should pack several days ahead of the batch being shipped to the distribution depot, as is the case with many fruit and vegetable pack houses.
 
This usually causes problems as the old programmes were fairly inflexible with lots of manual modifications to the label design being required to adjust the dates shown on the label. This can often lead to mistakes being made and labels left with the modified dates rather than the original date.
 
When a label sent to the packing machine asks the operator for the “Depot Day”(the day the product will leave to move to the distribution depot), the offset days are now calculated from the depot date. An added safe guard is that the range of dates can be restricted to stop “Display until”, “Best Before” dates a year in advance, for example.

 

 

The modification, which can also allow fruit caliber to be chosen at the time of packing is supplied as a “plugin” (a small additional “add on program” to the current version of Girprint). The label delivery screen shows what will be printed so the operator can check the dates before committing to printing.
